3. The Harbour Club
Experience one of the finest restaurants in Valletta which is situated right next to the harbour with a prime location. The restaurant overlooks Fort St. Angelo making it one of the most romantic restaurants in Malta!
The outside tables are elegant and there is a definitive feel of class and luxury as you enter the space. Here the lighting is dimmed and set to an intimate style and where staff are warm and genuine.
The menu connects history and culture with their Spring and Summer cuisine (at time of writing) offering inspired by the streets of Valletta and the significant historical figures that contributed to its identity.
What’s really interesting is that their menu is broken down by the different streets of Valletta across Starters, Mains and Desserts.
Each meal is brought to you with a special card with details relating to the history of that particular Valletta street!
Try ‘Republic Street’ which is Local Rabbit Terrine (see menu pic) with Lardo Di Colonnata, Fig, Liver Parfait Tart and Cocoa Nibs. Tender and delicious with great texture to match.
‘Mediterranean Street’ is their main consisting of Local Pork with Hazelnut Crust, Romesco, Charred Sweet Red Peppers and Jus. A beautiful arrangement of glistening pork carefully selected with sublime flavours.
‘St. Ursula Street’ from the Desert option side finally completes your 3 course meal where we chose the Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s also accompanied with coffee wafer biscuit, sugared peanuts and caramel. Indulgent sweetness and rich vanilla with chocolate ice cream topped off a fantastic evening.
A truly mesmerising experience if you’re looking for a romantic restaurant in Malta.

4. Guze
Guze is a gorgeous bistro inspired restaurant situated on the corner of Old Bakery Street. They serve up an unbelievable menu produced by Michelin chef Joseph Cauchi.
The inside interior is intimate with a level of sophistication celebrating all that is good about Maltese history. The interior has a white stone interior feel and the warm welcome from staff will keep you at ease.
This was the last dinner of our trip to Malta and it loved up to expectation and a lot more! The food was cooked and prepared with a thoughtfulness of ingredients and presentation that can be hard to find.
For starters try the lobster containing spaghetti gragnano with lemon. An absolutely fresh and appetizing meal to get the 3 main course going. Light yet fulfilling, it’s a recommended starter.
Try the pork fillet main with cheek carrot accompanied with black garlic. A sense of rich and deep fragrant flavours is a must have!
You will also not be disappointed with the Maltese wine during your stay especially if you’re a lover of red!
Red wine lovers should consider trying out the 2018 Nexus Merlot of Malta. A full body red with notes of fruitiness. And it won’t break the bank either with a bottle between two under $45.
Above all a restaurant that really showcases both great food and service that is definitely a must for your list of romantic restaurant options.
